My high school football coach was a door gunner in Vietnam. He told us a story of how he shot a North Vietnamese soldier that was so close to him that the guy came out of his shoes. He told us a lot of stories, but he never glorified it. He wasn’t proud of what he did and I don’t think at 19 years old, when he enlisted, that really understood what he was getting himself into. He definitely had PTSD and struggled with it. One of my friends told me she saw him crying in his truck one day. He was a great coach and teacher and had a huge impact on my life....Love you, Coach Murray, where ever you may be.

Im from Hanoi, been living here all my life. In 27 years, so much had changed. Back when i was little, having imported goods is seen as Upper Class, now everyone has it. Cars used to be a status symbol, now it's a nuisance. Even quality white rice, which used to be luxury food, is now the standard. Im thankful for what my nation been through and had what it had achieve. With that in mind, the growth is not without its "Growing Pain". Since we grow so fast, older generation is have a hard grasp of what the society have become. It took me years to explain to my family what exactly what my job is and why i can earn money on a computer all day. Growing Fast also left a big mark on the enviroment. Inner cities are both highly polluted and too high-cost for blue collar workers to live or to grow a family. School intuition keep scaling higher and higher ,despite the efforts to ban extra curriculums. Vietnam dont have oligarchs like Korea or Japan, as can see with Truong My Lan case. I hope my country can rise in unity, it is the Cheap work force that attract investors and so it is the worker lives need to be improved
