https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=z798azoI6Vgthey pretend to pay us we pretend to work
https://www.perplexity.ai/search/they-pretend-to-pay-us-we-pret-qArxPhqnQI6nGUcZ_OUXFAThis phrase is a famous quote often attributed to workers in Soviet-era enterprises, reflecting a sardonic workplace attitude where there's a mutual, unspoken agreement of minimal effort and productivity. ## Core Meaning - Employers provide minimal compensation - Employees provide minimal work effort - A passive-aggressive form of workplace resistance ## Historical Context - Originated in Soviet Union's centrally planned economy - Highlighted systemic inefficiencies in state-run enterprises - Symbolized worker disengagement and economic stagnation ## Modern Relevance - Still resonates in bureaucratic or poorly managed organizations - Reflects workplace disengagement - Can indicate: - Low morale - Inadequate compensation - Lack of meaningful work - Misaligned organizational incentives ## Tech/Startup Perspective In modern tech environments, this attitude is counterproductive. High-performing teams focus on: - Clear expectations - Fair compensation - Meaningful work - Professional growth - Mutual respect Pro tip: If you feel this way consistently, it might be time to: 1. Discuss concerns with management 2. Seek new opportunities 3. Upskill to increase your market value
How To Become A 37 Year Old Broke Loser
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVz_hf4Jbe037 Year Old Broke Loser Is Rich Now? Updates & Response To Comments
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=BCXn6R-LaB8Your contract ventures remind me of a conclusion I came to years ago: A disproportionate things are started by people who don't finish stuff. Why? Cause the people who finish stuff are busy finishing what they started, so they don't have the time to start as many things! People who finish what they started are also much more cautious about starting stuff, knowing what it takes to finish.
The list of mistakes that Robert said it affected his career ________________________________________________________ 1) Do not work for shady startups 2) Do not work if the pay is not guaranteed 3) If payment issues appear (e.g. late payment, stalling tactics) leave immediately 4) Try to go with the employment route at the beginning to solidify your career. 5) Do not start to build a personal brand without a solid capital. 6) Associate yourself with meaningful products that garner positive reputation.
As a broke 32-year-old loser staring down the barrel of 33, I really needed this advice in order to stay on track. Thanks.

It cautions against assuming that what is currently happening is the definite outcome.
